THE MAGIC WOOD - A NATURAL GEM IN THE COMMUNITY OF FERRERA

Welcome to the municipality of Ferrera! Ferrera consists of two villages full of character in Val Ferrera. Ausserferrera boasts the «Magic Wood», the Romanesque church in Cresta, a hostel and the traditional village pub. Innerferrera attracts visitors with its idyllic village square, a hospitable restaurant and the Starlera mountain hut. Both villages are starting points for hiking trails that lead you directly into nature. Ferrera comes from the word iron. Many witnesses to the past of ore mining can be found in nature or in the ore museum.

A highlight in Ferrera is undoubtedly the «Magic Wood», the Mecca for the bouldering community.

This unique climbing paradise, surrounded by dense forests and clear waters, is not only an Eldorado for boulderers from all over the world, but also an example of sustainable tourism. The municipality is actively committed to protecting the natural environment to ensure that the "Magic Wood" remains an intact and inspiring natural experience for generations to come.
